About Brian Dickson
For nearly 20 years, I worked on the operator side of the ground transportation business, carrying the same responsibilities and pressures owners and senior leaders face every day.
I began as Vice President & General Manager of Coach America’s Orlando operation, supporting high-visibility clients such as Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, the University of Central Florida, major cruise lines, international tour operators, and a wide range of charter customers. At our peak, we operated close to 200 vehicles across multiple service types with a team of more than 300 employees.
The work went far beyond running daily service. Across each role I held—General Manager, Regional Vice President, and later senior leadership positions with Arena Americas, Alliance Bus Group, Walt Disney World, and All Aboard America—I was responsible for the decisions that shape an operator’s reality: pricing and contract strategy, reorganizations and restructurings, labor and union dynamics, fleet and capital investment, service recovery, and making hard calls when performance, safety, or culture fell short. These weren’t theoretical discussions; they were real-time decisions made with customers waiting, employees watching, and financial outcomes on the line.
Those experiences reinforced an important truth: strong results don’t come from isolated fixes. They come from clarity, discipline, aligned leadership, and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure—consistently.
In 2024, after leading the turnaround of a startup operation in Austin, Texas, I founded Bus Business Consultants. I did so to help owners and executive teams think through the same kinds of decisions I faced throughout my career—without having to learn everything the hard way.
Today, I work with leaders who want an experienced, practical sounding board—someone who understands the complexity of their business, respects the weight of their decisions, and helps them move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
